Why this check matters
No sponsor licence, no Skilled Worker sponsorship
If an employer is not licensed for the route, they cannot issue the Certificate of Sponsorship needed for a Skilled Worker application.
The route must match
An employer may be licensed for some worker routes, but you still need to check whether the licence covers the route relevant to your job.
A licence is not a job offer
Being on the register means the employer can sponsor in principle. It does not mean they are hiring or will sponsor every role.

Ratings explained
A rating and B rating
An A rating is the standard sponsor status. A B rating means the sponsor is subject to a Home Office action plan. A B rated sponsor may still appear on the register, but you should understand the risk before you rely on that employer.
